What happens during migration?
- All Data will transfer from current booking engine to new booking engine.
- Every 15 minutes the two systems will sync to account for new bookings / voucher purchases / availability or rate changes etc.
- URL closeouts and discount closeouts will NOT be synced - contact your migration co-ordinator if you amend any of these.
- Some items will be migrated once but will not be synced if changes are made in current booking engine: Removal or updates to Room Types, Rateplans and Grouped Specials.
- Some already deleted items will be migrated but disabed e.g rateplans, occupants, enhancements etc, they can then be removed from the backend after migration if you so wish.
- Whenever a discount code was used for booking (eg 12%) and after booking discount code was changed from 12% to 2%, the new system will create an extra discount in the backend in order to accommodate bookings made with codes on discounts that were changed, clients may disable or remove these discounts after migration
- Some hotels using discounts to hide packages and the discount is at 0 - these will get imported however the hotel will not be able to update these discounts as in the new system all discounts must be greater than 0 .
- Translations will NOT be migrated.
- Rate Bands need to be activated manually if client would like to use them.
- Voucher System will be created automtically to store all voucher purchases.
- Voucher Invoicing will be moving from every 6 months to monthly invoice in line with booking commission invoices
- Website Builder if on credit card will move to invoice and direct debit to be in line with commission invoices.
Some Incompatabilities / Differences between 2 Booking Engines:
- Ability to have non commissionable & Commissionable packages - all packages are commissionable.
- Option to Specify click and collect time and date for vouchers is not available in new system.
- Cancellations for all bookings made prior to go-live date will need to be manually updated in booking engine & PMS.
- Notification emails set per tariff, enhancement, voucher etc. is not possible in new system.
- Custom Messages, the following are the only ones that will be imported, any others will need to be manually updated;
- No Availability Message
- Check Availability Message
- Reservation Form Message
- Pre & Post Stay Emails cannot be imported as they have some functionality which is not yet supported in the new system.
- Review module is no longer available.
- Ability to send credit card details to some channel managers
- In new system those purchasing vouchers can choose to have it sent by post / email but not both.
- Manually changed rates of floating rate will not be imported, only floating rate rules and floated rates.
Please note: To improve speed of migrations and to use voucher orders for specific bookings we are syncing voucher and bookings in ‘chunks’ which will cause order ids to be out of order, once client starts using eco the order for new order ids for vouchers and bookings will be correct
